Dear Yuletide Writer,

First of all, thank you so much for this! I'm looking forward to whatever you produce.

I've already put my prompts and DNWs on the sign-up proper; one year I just never got around to writing the letter until it was too late, so I wanted to be covered. However, just to be thorough, here we go again!

Tamora Pierce—Emelan

DNW: romance (ok if you want to introduce an OC love interest, but I don't ship any of these characters with each other), graphic violence, pregnancy, tragic endings.

I'm all about missing scenes, character introspection, friendship, found family, angst, happy/hopeful endings. Aftermath of tragedy and determination to rebuild/go on are great, but I'm not a fan of unhappy endings.

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

Any or all characters are welcome. And feel free to include others, whether canon or original. DNW: Incest, graphic sex, violence. The book dealt with some very heavy, serious subjects but it did so without all the gory details. That's fine; feel free to include mature themes but don't go into explicit detail.

I'm all about missing scenes, character introspection, friendship, found family, angst, happy/hopeful endings. Aftermath of tragedy and determination to rebuild/go on are great, but I'm not a fan of unhappy endings. Feel free to revisit these characters years later. Show me Francie and Neely in the Great Depression or in WWII. Maybe one or both have kids who are old enough to fight or they're terrified that the war won't be over by the time they are. Sissy in the 60s with a grandchild discovering just how unconventional grandma was! Francie and Katie locking horns... really, whatever you decide (outside of my DNWs) will probably be fine!

Dungeons and Dragons Cartoon

DNW: R-rated levels of sex or violence. Incest, non-con, pregnancy, character death

A typical adventure in the realm, missing scenes, character introspection, something dealing with before their arrival in the realm or after they return home. Or even deciding in the end to stay in the realm (or some of the kids choosing to return, some to stay). As long as you avoid my DNWs, I'm sure I'll love it!

Duolingo: Welsh

Pannas, pannas, pannas, os gweli di'n dda!

As long as Owen and his parsnips are featured, I don't care who else is there! Let Owen beat up the dragon while he and Celyn conspire to steal them. Let Dewi try to barricade his field to keep Owen out of them. Let Celyn break up with him because she can't stand hearing about them day and night!

As I write this, the rules still say that fics must be written in English. If that should change and you're comfortable, feel free to write in Welsh. I've finished the Duo course and not yet signed up for anything more advanced, but I can use the practice!

The Facts of Life

I'm a big fan of the Eastland years, but I wouldn't mind a jump ahead to see what their lives are like post-series. Don't feel bound by the reunion special; I saw it, but I'm fine if you choose to disregard.

The Orville

More characters welcome too if you like. And you don't need to include all of the ones I've chosen; they happen to be my favorites, so I'd like to see the focus on at least one of them, though.

DNW: R-rated levels of sex or violence. Incest, non-con, pregnancy, character death

Innuendo is fine. Character introspection, missing scenes, new adventures, girl-talk, dating, Topa and Alara as penpals, UST, s'all good!

Most of my regular fandoms are too big to be eligible, so when it comes to Yuletide, I often select stuff I loved to pieces when I was a kid. In general, if it's a children's book or a cartoon, I'd appreciate if the situations remained in the K-T range. Mostly keeping the tone/subject as light (or dark) as the source material is safe ground. You can push the envelope, but please don't shred it!

I'm a huge fan of happy/hopeful endings. You can put the characters through ten kinds of hell, but bring them out safely at the end! Or even, "I've lost my fortune, my reputation, and my favorite T-shirt, but I won't let that break me. I'll start over and come back stronger than ever!" Just don't make the ending a downer, please.

Canonical character death is fine; for non-canonical, I'm iffy. I guess... please don't kill off any kids, unless you want to do a futurefic where they pass on in their 90s after thinking back on all they've done.

If you want to go dark, I'm okay with physical and/or mental torture. Not a huge fan of sexual, though. I mean, you can reference it, but let's keep that aspect T-rated, please.

Thanks again! And I'm generally pretty easy to please. Looking forward to whatever you produce!
